A first half demolition won this encounter by 6 goals to 2. Gareth and Deji bagged braces aided by Craig and Pete to see off a resolute HSBC down at the bumpy home of football.

We started purposefully and like a team who had been spanked in the last 2 weeks. The first meaningful move of the game saw us go one up.

An overlapping run from the marauding Bicheno saw the youthful full back knock a fantastic ball into the box. Ghosting forward, the darling of Darlington, Adamson , rose above the HSBC rearguard to thunder a bullet header home.

We continued to dominate and then 5 minutes later G10 doubled the lead. Tunde ran the channel down the left and then proceded to spank a thunderous half volley goalwards. The keeper could only parry the powerful strike into the onrushing G10. He then cut inside the covering defender, and then cut inside again, and then got his shot away only for the keeper to save. the ball rebounded to the little magician and he then he proceded to do what he should have done in the first place and lash the ball home.

We were in complete control and got the goal of the game with 25 gone. Steve Bell and Tomek interchanged passes before the mercurial leftback laid the ball into deji. With one touch he roasted the defender, strode into the box and then lamped a left footer unstoppably past the keeper.

At 3 0 we then took our foot off the gas. an injury to Tomek saw the Pole come off and so we took a little time to readjust. HSBC started to come back into it and on 30 mins got a goal back.

A hoisted lob forward saw us slow to react. Aidan became embroiled in a 50 50 with their striker and as the ball broke loose our stauesque rearguard watched their centr mid steal in to stroke home..

HSBC visibly rose in confidence and belief and created a couple of half chances. However we managed to restore the 3 goal advantage.

An educated ball forward from Matt Charge saw Deji pick it up on the edge of the box. The lethal striker drove into the box only to be upended by the sprawling defender. A penalty was given and Deji spanked it comfortably home.

HT BB Eagles 4 1 HSBC

We came out in the second half expecting HSBC to go under and fold.

We were completely wrong and the visitors had the upper hand in the opening gambits of the 2nd half.

Indeed 10 minutes in and they grabbed a 2nd. Some indecision again found Aidan isolated in a 50 50. Again the visitors capitalised on the loose ball and grabbeda goal back.

For the next 15 minutes we were second best. A mixture of some good defending and poor final ball saw us maintain the 2 goal advantage but what should have been a comfortable 2nd half was becoming increasingly difficult.

However with 15 to go we got the decisive 5th. Deji wriggled free on the edge of the box and slipped G10 in. With a composed air G10 stroked the ball home to make it 5.

This sucked the life out of the oppo and with 2 minutes left G10 released Pete inside the box. Pet settled himself and then struck a great left foot finish into the far corner.

We ran out comfortable winners but in the second half the game was much more of an even contest and HSBC must be given credit or coming out in the 2nd half and really taking the game to us. This game was won in the 1st 25 minutes. We now go to HSBC for the return in the knowledge that they will be bang up for redressing this result.

Special mention today goes to craig who was excellent in the centre of the park.
