A 6 0 mauling away at promotion hopefuls EBOG saw us come away licking our wounds in a dismal afternoon down in Barnet.

The game started brightly enough with Tomek almost setting Tunde up with a great left foot cross.

The hosts looked lively and almost went ahead when their man of the match broke free in the inside left edge of the box only to fire wide of the far stick.

Malc went close with a right foot effort whilst at the other end Aidan made a point blank save to deny their player following a free kick from the right.

Aidan produced a magnificent save from a free kick as EBOG went in search for the opener and they were clearly becoming frustrated at their inablity to break us down.

On 38 minutes the ref made a dubious decision and awarded EBOG a pen. Matt Charge was adjudged to have fouled their striker in the box. Neither defender or striker were convinced of the decision. However the EBOg striker cooly stepped up to fire the hosts 1 0 up.

Minutes later and we were the victims of our own indiscipline. The ref awarded a free kick for dissent and the resulting centre saw their player head home from close range.

HT EBOG 2 0 BBEagles

We started well in the opening 10 minutes of the second half but it was EBOG who got the decisive third. A centre from the right saw their striker's header brilliantly tipped onto the crossbar by Aidan. however, as was the story of the afternoon they reacted quicker to prod home from close range.

5 minutes later and the ref halted the game. Calling Matty and Kieran towards him he pulled out his book ready to punish Matt. Bemused, Matt was accused of swapping shirts with Kieran at half time . Fortunately the ref saw the error of his ways and continued with the game. A really bizarre incident that did make you wonder what exactly was going through the ref's mind.

Minutes later and it was 4 and EBOG were coasting. Chris hit the crossbar with a cross but this was the nearest we came to testing their keeper.

Aidan made another couple of fantastic saves as we were now under the cosh. EBOG had the wind in their sails and really punished every error that we made.

Difficult to remember the 5th but the 6th which was scored late on saw their number 8 and best player, beat Aidan in a one on one .

The final whistle couldn't come quick enough. A dubious penalty decision changed the course of the game along with some ill discipline from us. today we were out fought and out bullied by an EBOG team who are on a bit of a roll.

They could well go up and throughly deserved their victory. We were poor and second best all afternoon and could draw very few positives from the game.

Our final 3 games will test the character and attitude of the squad and it is vital that we finish the season on a positive note.
