A Deji brace and one from the Gaffer ensured that we came away with 3 hard fought points at HSBC ,a result marred only by the bad injury picked up by Tunde 20 minutes in.
This was a different HSBC side compared to our last game and they started the game with real purpose looking to avenge their defeat of 2 weeks ago and also to try and nail a valuable 3 points in their fight against relegation.
They were quicker all over tha park and used the wide spaces well creating 2 early chances that Aidan comfortably dealt with.
15 minutes in and we took the lead against the run of play. A lovely little through ball form Eagles debutante Adrien, saw their central defender clatter a clearance right onto Deji's hooter. Remarkably the result saw the ball loop over the keeper and into the back of the net.
HSBC continued to pressure us all over the back but the back four remained resolute with Aidan in inspired form behind them.
Chargy nearly doubled the lead from a corner but his effort went narrowly wide.

We started the 2nd half much better and within 5 minutes should have put the game to bed.
Some powerful play from Deji in the inside right channel saw him reach the bye line and cut one back. With the goal gaping Shal rolled the ball goalwards only for the defender to come from nowhere and make a last ditch goal line clearance.
Minutes later and a far post dink from G10 saw his effort clatter against the upright. 5 minutes into the half and it really should have been game set and match.
However on 60 minutes we did get the crucial 2nd. A long clearance form Aidan saw Deji get the better of the centre half. The ball came to Shal who chested it down and powered goalwards.
With the keeper advancing the veteran striker deftly lobbed the helpless keeper. A real moment of magic within a hard fought encounter.
The home side were incensed that an offside had not been given and from that moment on contributed to their own downfall with a tirade of abuse to the ref lead inexcusably by their skipper.
With their concentration gone< Deji capitalised on some hesitation at the back a minute later. As the keeper rolled the ball out to their centre half, the ever alert predator nicked it off him, rounded the keeper and then slotted cooly home for his second and our third.
As the home side continued to spend the next 10 minutes channelling their efforts into berating the referee, Deji nearly made it four only to be thwarted by the keeper as he got on the end of a good through ball from PA.
With 20 to go HSBC managed to get a goal back and so set up a tense finish.
A powerful run from their right back saw him slip the ball wide and then continue his run into the box. the resulting centre saw him fire home from close range.
The game became stretched as the home side battled hard to get back into the game. In the final period Aidan came into his own making a magnificent save from a free kick which he athletically tipped around the post at full stretch.
We looked dangerous on the counter and a neat dummy from Shal saw Deji again bare down on goal only for the keeper to make another very good save.
The powerful striker then showed his ability by beating 2 players in the box and rolling the ball square to G10 who unfortunately found the only bobble on the pitch to fire over.
The diminutive winger then saw a brilliant 25 yard effort whistle narrowly over the bar.
At the other end we defended stoutly but with 10 to go HSBC nearly grabbed a 2nd. A cross from the left found their striker unmarked at the back stick. His powerful header looked goalbound but Aidan produced a quite remarkable save to keep his effort out and so maintain our 2 goal advantage.
With minutes left their substitute got sent off for dissent.
In the final minute Deji broke free on the left, outpaced the defence and again had a one on one with the keeper. With Gaffer to his right and the goal gaping the lure of the hat trick got the better of him and the keeper made the save.
Overall this was a really gritty victory. HSBC had much the better of the first half but we came back well in the 2nd and carved out numerous clear cut chances. The home side's ill discipline detracted from their attempts to get back in the game at the crucial period in the 2nd half.
Aidan produced a couple of magnificent saves in the 2nd half and deservedly won the MOM closely followed by Deji who was a constant threat all afternoon.
However our thoughts must go out to Tunde who sadly as it turned out, has broken his ankle and will be incapacitated for the next 6 weeks. We obviously all wish him a speedy and full recovery.
