A GOOD END TO OUR LEAGUE CAMPAIGN SEES US THUMP SOUTH BANK DOWN AT PVR.

A 4 0 home win against relegated South Bank saw us complete a good second half of the season. See the match report for further details.

The Cava flowed as we celebrated finishing third from bottom for the second year running!!

On this glorious summer Saturday the summer wear was out in force led by the gaffer who exhibited much style and panache that wowed the lads and had them sheepishly questioning their own below par standards of dress code. However, there is no doubt that the Gaffer does not in any way shape or form resemble Elvis in his latter years and to this day still fails to see where or why the nickname 'Patelvis'is still bandied about in conversation!!

Memorable moments from Saturday include a great quote from Mr Team Morale, Martin. On seeing Craig inexplicably slice a cross out for a goal kick, the Eagles goal machine (!!) could be heard bellowing:

'Oi Craig, give Chrissy his boot back'. Defiant in adversity, Chrissy snarled back, 'Shut up Martin'. I'm telling you, it nearly all kicked off. A little harsh on the mild mannered full back on a day where the pitch was very bumpy!!

Andy Waldron continued his very strange post match behaviour by positioning himself in front of the mirror post shower, enabling him to self admire his own posterior. More alarmingly 5 minutes previous Dunc could be seen doing the very self same thing......yes Dunc. The last place Dunc needs to be is in front of a mirror as gravity takes its toll on the ageing little fella!!

An interesting day all round for Dunc. He scored a 25 yarder during the game but was rudely interrupted pre match whilst doing his crossword, lavatory style, an image that would scare even the most broad minded of people!

Finally lads, I want to take the opportunity to thank all those who have really dug in, rolled their sleeves up in times of quite severe adversity and helped to pull us out of the mess we were in after 10 games. We looked certs for the drop but commendably have shown great resolve to fight back. Through this I think we have grown as a squad and I'm really enthused for next season. We have 4 weeks until the Bank of Scotland Game. Lets focus, train hard and finish the campaign on a real high.

Also finally, special mention must go to Gaz Waterson who played his last ever league game for the club and has given the club over 20 years of magnificent service. We all wish him, Carla, Kenny and Archie all the very best as they embark on their new life down under.

Anyway, training will take place at PVR from 7.00 for the next 3 Tuesdays.

One final push lads.

Cheers
Shal
